I am the eldest daughter of my parents. My father, Shri.C. Radhakrishnan,
retired from Indian Government service, is currently settled down at our home in
Kandewaram, Irinjalakuda Trichur. My mother, Smt. Gangadevi, recently retired
from her teaching career, is getting over the pangs of being away from her
beloved students. My younger sister, Jyothi, is a happy mother and electronic
engineer in Bangalore. She is currently working with
InfoSys.
I like keeping myself busy with my hobbies rather than idle gossip and kitty
parties. Rather than restrict myself to a couple of specific hobbies, I tend to
try out anything and everything which catches my eyes.
Arts and Crafts
This has been my passion. I think I got this from my
mother. This covers everything from painting (oil to Tanjore), Cooking (Indian
to Malaysian) , stitching etc etc
Music
I enjoy Hindi, Malayalam and English
music and Napster has been a great source of my favorites. It soothes my mind
and helps me recover my sprits. Again I listen to all sorts of music -
Traditional Carnatic - Smooth Gazals - Hindi Movie music - English pop.
Travel
This is in my blood. I like new places,
New people. With my husband's regular job changes, the joke used to be - a new
place - a new home - new friends every year !. I have traveled to many cities in
India and make it a point to go on long weekend to different places in USA. Rain
or shine - I get Rohit ready, my bags packed and all set to go.
Reading
Self improvement and motivational books
are more my cup of tea. Poems, Biographies, Books on arts and crafts etc are
what get me excited.
Movies
Oh ya. We are up to date with the Hindi
Movies. We bought a DVD player and most weekends are spent catching up with the
latest offering of Bollywood. In addition, we also watch the Oscar wining
English movies, any Malayalam movie and selected Tamil movies.
Sports
I love playing badminton and tennis. We
have also been visiting our local bowling club on weekends to try my hand.
IF YOU CAN'T BE a pine on the top of the
hill,
Be a scrub in the valley-but be
The best little scrub by the side of
the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.
If you can't be a bush be
a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can't be a
muskie then just be a bass-
But the liveliest bass in the lake!
We
can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us
here,
There's big work to do, and there's lesser to do,
And the task you
must do is the near.
If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail-
Be the best of whatever you are!
